Janet G
I'd like to attach our Cube directly to our Omlet WIR without the Cube run in between. Is it possible & has anyone done it? Anything special needed? We have a newish hen who won't go to bed at night so we have to put her into the Cube, & I just can't get into the Cube run except crawling on all fours. Thanks Janet
Purplemaniacs
I don't have an Omlet WIR but I think the problem would be how you slide the roof forward to clean the cube as the Omlet WIR would be in the way. I think you would need to mover the cube away each time. Chrissie
LunaKiw1
I suggest you email Omlet as they were helpful and suggested the right bit of KIT needed to directly attach our Eglu to the Omlet WIR when we moved and there wasn't room for the run as well in the new location. But, as someone above suggests, maybe there's a problem in how the Cube opens?
Janet G
Yes you're right. Had a closer look today but there seems to be no way of sliding the top off other than over a low run. So I've ordered another bit of tall run, & we're going to chop off as much of the Cube run as we can whilst still being able to slide the top. Not ideal but needs must, but it would be even better if the dopey hen would go back to going into the Cube at night. Janet
Guest
My only gripe with the cube is that the sliding lid makes life difficult if you have a non omlet run. I will be getting BIL (carpenter) to build me a new walk in run with a short low area when we move to enable easy roof sliding.
UKMARCH
We have a flap down little door to enable the cube lid to slide forward in our WIR it works well so if you have or are planning a wooden run this can be done to keep the full height but sadly this doesn't help with the wire run. Guest
Oh thanks UKMarch, what a brilliant idea, I shall make a note of it in the new run s"Ooops, word censored!"book
