merlina
Two of my chooks have developed a strange tinge to their feet and legs - a kind of rusty yellow. It looks rather like they stepped in something - but it doesn't come off (and I can't find anything off-yellow they could have waddled through) I can't see any signs of parasites or anything nasty. Two of the girls who share the same quarters don't have the yellow-y colour (but they have darker toned legs to start with). The two yellow-legs are not laying (and haven't for many months) - I did find a very old thread that suggested it might be something to do with coming in to lay. One is a 4 year old warren who hasn't laid for about 9 months and the other a year old araucana who only ever laid about a dozen eggs then went on strike! Any ideas? Should I be concerned? Egluntyne
If they haven't been laying then the pigments will have built up in their skin. It will fade when they stop laying again.
