pips_pekins
Just cut the nails of one of my chickens for the first time. One of them then seemed to just break away and there is a lot of blood. I have put vet powder on it and purple spray but there is still some bleeding. I have put her in the cat box for now away from the others. Other than cutting her nails have I done the right thing? Bit worried about her anyway as think she may be egg bound. Once she has got over this I am going to have a better look at her. In fact, it was her strange behaviour which made me cut her nails in the first place
Redwing
It's not the end of the world and the bleeding will have stopped way before mornings don't worry Try not to cut the nails too short next time, hold them up to the light to see better if necessary If it happens again stick the nail in a bar of soap or smother the end in flour or Vaseline - all will stop the bleeding quickly
pips_pekins
Thank you Redwing. She seems ok this morning so I've put her back in with others and will keep an eye on her.
