Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

So I have wood chip in my cube run. It was sited permanently on soil coming up for 18 months ago and the wood chip put down then, what a heaven send with all the wet weather we've had since and also the pekins feathered feet!!!

 

I poo pick when I can (most days) and once a week I sprinkle over stalosan f and give it all a good turn over I think it has broken down a little, as in the size of the chips. It was a very chunky wood chip at the start. The run is completely covered and I feel I should replace it all this summer, putting the old stuff around on the beds.

 

Does this sound ok? First time....anything I should/shouldn't do??? I've been pretty impressed with the wood chip and will get more from the same supplier

Sounds fine, but be warned.... The chooks view that woodchip as theirs.... We moved ours out into a back flower bed - now referred to as chicken corner!!! The chickens love digging in it... First port if call when out in the garden! Lol. Just don't put it near any delicate plants....
