How long can wood chip last?

Recommended Posts

So I have wood chip in my cube run. It was sited permanently on soil coming up for 18 months ago and the wood chip put down then, what a heaven send with all the wet weather we've had since and also the pekins feathered feet!!!

I poo pick when I can (most days) and once a week I sprinkle over stalosan f and give it all a good turn over :D:D I think it has broken down a little, as in the size of the chips. It was a very chunky wood chip at the start. The run is completely covered and I feel I should replace it all this summer, putting the old stuff around on the beds.

Does this sound ok? First time....anything I should/shouldn't do??? I've been pretty impressed with the wood chip and will get more from the same supplier :D

Thanks

Sounds fine, but be warned.... The chooks view that woodchip as theirs.... We moved ours out into a back flower bed - now referred to as chicken corner!!! The chickens love digging in it... First port if call when out in the garden! Lol. Just don't put it near any delicate plants....
