Cat tails
My little ladies were absolutely loving their sunny time in the garden, while I slaved away, planting some chook resistant plants and making their own private sandbox. Look at their content little faces!
auntielizzie
That's a new Up you've got isn't it? Luck you Those chickens are a beautiful colour Are your new "chicken proof" plants in with the chickens? Just be aware that young plants are most vulnerable to pecky little beaks, even if they are chicken proof when they grow to maturity! Often it's when the plants are more mature that they are more chicken proof, so young plants might need a little bit of protection until they are established
Cat tails
Thanks! Yes the Up for me! With my three New Hampshire bantam ladies. Chicken proof plants are mostly different types of ferns. They enjoy hiding behind them, and so far leave them alone. And no, the rest of the plants are not as chicken proof... They have found my still very young raspberry stalks and sadly enough one of my daft ladies has taken a liking for the tomatoes. So I bought some extra fencing. It's very simple bird mesh. Hope it will keep my beans, carrots and tomatoes safe from those greedy beaks!
