Anyone got Eglu go up with extension but no wheels?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have just bought and assembled a Eglu Go Up with 1m extension, my plan was to put it on grass/wood bark but since putting it together I have been trying to work out how I'm going to clean it out. It's so long and not easy to get into, I had a classic eglu a few years ago and had no trouble with that. I'm due to go get my girls on Thurs but I can't it I can't resolve this as I need to be able to keep it as clean as possible.

I didn't get the wheels with it and it's so difficult to lift even with two of us, it's really the daily poo picking I'm concerned about.

Any ideas gratefully received :-)

This is exactly what I struggle with as well.

I don't have the extension, but still have trouble cleaning the run. Mine is on grass now and so far I have tried to rake it out, crawl in (not something I enjoy doing...) and even tried a broom. But nothing has worked really well.

Biggest problem I have with slightly mushy poo. That will stick to the grass.

If anyone has some handy poo picking advice, I'd love to hear it!

That's actually a good suggestion. Although I'm not sure where to put it in the Up run. The best option would be in a back panel below the coop. But that wouldn't give me super duper access, as it would be beneath the coop. (Bending down... Hitting head... Being covered in poo... Slipping on more poo... )

Hi,

I have found sliding out the roosting bars and tray exposes the end of the run under the house, I use a broom to sweep half of flooring into that area then dustpan and brush it up. Then I go to the door end and sweep the other half, it's still not easy though. Would have been much better if Omlet had put a wider side door in too. I've been using Stalosan F to disinfect the floor along with some pine scented bedding. No smell but I insist on cleaning it out daily so I is quite hard work.
