Chicken bald back

Hubby is collecting my 8 week old bantams today but just been told Wyandotte has been feather pecked on her back, should I avoid? Thankyou

Are you buying a group that is already isolated, in which case is the feather pecker in with that group? Is she being pecked because the group has just been put together in too small a space? Or is the group not yet formed so you won't be buying the pecker?

 

It will be a problem one way or another. Very minor or major, depending on the circumstances. As LeeWeedon says, the feathers will grow back and I would take them anyway. Perhaps negotiate a price reduction or a take back and refund clause? You won't be able to replace one hen without problems though, you would need a bonded pair.
