Happy-Mama
Hi, I'm looking for something I can use to repel insects that won't hurt my bunny. Can anyone help?
Snowy
Citronella is a good deterrant - a few drops of oil on some kitchen roll wedged underneath the sunshade works quite well. You can also buy fly repellant spray for horses - you could use it around the run and rablu, not sure if it can be used on the rabbit though
Hockeyaholic
Where can you buy Citronella from?
pepe
Anywhere that sells essential oils. You can get special sprays for bunnies to help prevent fly strike, ask vet or maybe pet shops. I put a few drops of tea tree and lavender oil in an old spray bottle, filled with water, I use it to clean rablu base, lit tray and have been spraying around generally, still get insects, but I'm sure it deters them! Happy-Mama
Thanks I'll give that a go. He's back at the vet in a week for his VHD vacc so will ask about the fly strike spray as well then.
