moving tips

Recommended Posts

Finally my house is sold so we are hoping to move the first week of October, dependant on solicitors getting off their backsides of course. :wall:

We are not moving too far (20 minutes drive on a bad day) and have air conditioning in the car so transporting the hens is not going to be a problem, the people buying our house and plot of land are happy for the hens to stay on the land for a couple of weeks after the human house move which does take the pressure off  .

The house we are buying has quite a bit of dog mess on the "lawn", I was thinking of getting a big tub of the nettex sanitiser to sprinkle all over the garden areas (after we have poo picked) the day before we move into the house, is this a good idea?

I have deliberately held back from worming the girls until we were sure of moving so will worm them at some point this month.

Do you think some sort of tonic would be a good idea for a couple of days before, during and after the move? Which tonic would be best as there are so many? I did use a seaweed one once which was very good but then I bought a different brand which was poor, I can no longer remember which brand the original one was.

I am going to buy some of the proper cardboard pet carriers as these are easier to carry than a regular cardboard box, I have never used one before so I have no idea how many hens fit in each carrier.

Thanks in advance
