Lavenders_Blue
Tango has had an upset tum on and off for a few weeks. I'm going to pop her along to the vet as I suspect that she has probably picked up something that will need some treatment (she normally has a cast iron gut so this very unusual for her) but in the meantime to try and soothe things I have ordered some tree barks powder. The dosage states one tsp per 10kg body weight added to the daily feed. Tango is 11.5kg, so that's two tsp. I take it I split that across her meals, it's not per meal is it? ETA - Sorry, posted in the wrong forum Can one of the mods move it across please?
The Dogmother
wondered what you were posting this in here for! Marvellous stuff; like you I rarely need to use it, but always have some in reserve. I don't measure it out, but just sprinkle a wee bit on and give hard boiled eggs as well. Can't remember when I last used it, but Ruby once scavenged some rubbish in the park and was pretty poorly - ended up at the V. E. T Hope the orange one gets sorted soon. Lavenders_Blue
I'm taking her in to the vet tomorrow. I'm reeeeeeeally hoping that it's just a touch of colitis from scavenging, but I just have this feeling she's picked up something. She has an upset tummy for a few days, then everything clears up, then she gets the runs again and so on. I put her on Pro Kolin a couple of weeks ago which sorted everything out a treat, but now we're back to an upset tum She's on a totally bland diet at the moment. So just 'a sprinkle' of Tree Barks should do the job?
The Dogmother
I had Rubes on Protexin when she had that nasty bout - I took a poo sample in when we went and it turned out that she had picked up some nasty bacteria.

The Dogmother
I always walk them on a lead in there now - there's a profusion of abandoned kebabs/pizzas etc, plus some dimwit who leaves whole loaves of sliced white bread 'for the birds'
Lavenders_Blue
Ah yes, we have one of those too. I can't imagine what animal eats massive chunks of stale bread apart from dogs and rats. Certainly the birds would struggle to eat it, let alone get airborne afterwards
The Dogmother
I used to let her walk off lead, but muzzled to stop the guzzling; I am used to her wearing her racing muzzle, but I got so many people asking if she would bite...'no, only when I tell her to' that it wasn't worth it in the end, and they benefit from a bit of on-lead walking anyway.
