JellyBean2605
For a while now my girl Ariadne has been laying peculiar eggs. They are pale and thin shelled with a darker "thick" bit at the base that's all bobbly. They also seem to leave a bit of a mess on her knickers that doesn't come off. She seems well in herself, her comb has been a bit pale lately but otherwise ok. Both chickens have been wormed last week, they have access to grit (not that they eat it) and calcium supplements in their water. Any ideas on what could be the cause? Beantree
Check for red mite in the coop JB. Apart from that she may benefit from a vitamin D supplement or Cod Liver Oil. It's getting late in the year anyway and at end of lay (and start) you can get some poor eggs.
