puffball
My broody hen (called Amelia) has been sitting on her 'fertilised' eggs for five weeks. So far my friends think that they won't hatch but (typical me wanting to hang on) I am not so willing to take my hen off. Dad put her with the others this morning however and I am not sure if this was a good idea as we have not done the check to see if there are chicks in the eggs. Would it be worth keeping her on them or doing the test after five weeks? Amelia's comb has turned a pinky colour which can mean worms but in this case I think she is undernourished. Would it be better to keep her with the others so she can recover, or leave her on the eggs a bit longer? Thanks for your help
