Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

Hi All

 

I need a bit of advice regarding chicken coup flooring

 

I have chickens for about 9 years but I am buying a new chicken house

 

My hubby was thinking of putting down Pea Shingles - anyone else use it. Good or bad experiences

 

or should be put something else down.

A chicken 'coup' - what did you do to them?!

 

Haven't tried pea shingle, though I've read up on others trying it. What are they currently on? Do you find it's not working for you? Ours on our woodchip and they seem quite happy. Low maintenance and they can scratch around in it. It seems to be a common option, though I'm not sure if that's because it's cheap or effective. Good luck! Bride

Woodchip here too. Is hygienic and easy to clean and free from the sawmill. Don't use sawdust though as it isn't great for their lungs.
