Poplars
Our pot of rice got bugs, so we were going to throw it away, but is it OK to give uncooked rice to chickens??? Or will they explode???
Tina C
They won't exactly explode but don't give it to them uncooked as I understand it will swell up, which could cause crop problems. I do give mine small amounts of cooked rice though.
Nicola H
You should cook the rice they will love it............
Egluntyne
Mine love cooked rice. You are no supposed to throw uncooked rice at weddings anymore as it swells inside the wild birds and kills them. I suppose inevitably it will attract rats too!
arowland17
you could always keep it seperate from your rice and cook a bit at a time for them - when our broccoli gets left too long and goes yellow we keep it for the chicks and cook it especially for them as the fussy madams don't like it raw!! cutechicky
I would cook the rice before you give it to them. Uncooked rice swells in chickens crops and can cause some very nasty problems Cook the rice and it should be fine
