Tara.F
One of my birds has had a personality transplant Gwin is the undisputed top chook so I don't understand why she has suddenly started attacking the others every day. The other three are all looking increasingly bedraggled as she pecks them over and over again. There are feathers everywhere and they scream in pain when she gets 'em even when they're free ranging she seeks them out to have a go. Mean, spiteful, nasty chicken. She's never been very friendly but now she's being positively vile. Anyone know why she would have turned like this? I'm going right off her......anyone want a horrible hen? Snowy
Oh dear, poor chooks! I be tempted to check her over first in case there is something making her irritable, ie mites. No other health problems apparent? If all is OK, may be worth giving her some extra attention - I read somewhere that this helps to reassure them of their position. Otherwise you may have to resort to the bumper bit and water pistol treatment. I'm sure there will be others with even better ideas though! Hope it gets sorted for you. Egluntyne
Maybe bumper bits and a bit of solitary will teach her some manners...unless she is ill and that is causing the trouble.
feemcg
I agree - in the dog-house, literally! One of mine was like that at the beginning and I stuck her in a dog crate next to the run for a few hours each day, to give the others some peace and hopefully make her feel a little less 'dominant'. I think it worked
