danb_1985
Hi I have recently ended my time keeping chickens (a farm offered to let them see out their days free ranging so how could I refuse) and I now fancy ducks. Always really wanted ducks but am put off by potential noise for the neighbours. Chickens have never bothered the neighbors but I think ducks will be a different issue. I have a smallish garden with 3 other gardens attached (by fences) to mine. So as the title says, Is there such a thing as a quiet duck??? I've seen Muscovy mentioned but I don't particularly like the look of them. The other options seem to be runners or khaki Campbell's? Can anyone shed any light on the noise of these breeds please? Also, will they jump over a 5-6ft fence and escape if they were to free range? Thanks in advance to any advice offered
Cat tails
I have no experience with ducks, apart from the Muscovy ducks that live in my neighbourhood. Muscovy ducks are LARGE and I wouldn't stick them in a smallish garden.
danb_1985
No I don't like the look of Muscovy ducks anyway. It was info on runner and Campbell that I was after. I'd quite like a mix of white and khaki Campbell tbh. Ducks would be housed in a run during the week and free range on a weekend and evenings
