GrannyTrish
I've thought for a while now that our girls hadn't been eating their layers pellets, the same type as their breeder gave them, but I couldn't really be sure. So on Sunday I only put a handful of pellets in, haven't topped them up, and they're still there and look untouched. Also, I haven't been giving them any treats at all (despite the begging and dirty looks!). Normally they're free-ranging but I've left them in their run with only the pellets to eat today. They're all laying every day and look healthy. 1) Should I be worried about them not eating their pellets? 2) Any suggestions how to get them to eat them if it is a cause for concern? The Dogmother
If they are left in the run with nothing else to eat, then they will relent and even eat pellets they aren't fond of. What brand are they? Some makes such as Dodson & Horrell aren't much favoured; mine are happy with Smallholder layers pellets, which I occasionally mix with some Doctor Green co***** layers mash. They get virtually no treats.
GrannyTrish
They get Harbro Layers Pellets which is what their breeder gave them. (I think Harbro only have stores in Scotland.) I'll persevere. Thanks DM.
