tigerbunnyacres
Well I actually found myself doing the chicken dance this afternoon for the very first time. There was no egg when I let my girls out this morning, then when I returned this afternoon and changed the water I just checked the eglu on the off chance. I often check twice a day in an almost obsessive fashion! I have had Margot and Barbara and the Eglu for four weeks and two days and Margot (I think) has today produced the most beautiful egg. I couldn't be prouder if I had laid it myself. Anyway, my version of the egg dance involved lots of shimmying and the waving of one arm while the other hand cradled the precious egg. I am hoping for regular egg dancing sessions from now on! I am such a pleased Mum!

nicki9
CONGRATULATIONS! It's so exciting isn't it. We've been waiting obsessively all summer for eggs, then last week we went away to Cornwall. My Dad pet sat for us and guess what! Yes, on the Tuesday my step mum phoned saying how lovely the first egg had tasted! Mind you, both chickens have started laying in the same week and we thought Tikka was going to be at least a week behind Balti, so we've had 2 eggs a day since we got home! Egg dances are happening here!!!

virgin
We had our first egg yesterday. A quite big double yolker, tasted lovely too. I don't know which of my 4 ladies laid it though. I have been checking on them all day today but nothing else as yet. Once they start laying do they lay regularly straight away or kind of build up to it? Just wondering......
