farrowy
Help please!!!! We've spotted a baby phesant chick in the garden - it's on its own chirping for mum but no sign of her. We don't know what to do for the best if she doesn't appear - should we leave the chick in case she comes by or should we pop it in a box with food and water? Or could we pop it oin with our chickens? Is it best to leave it be? Please help we want to do the right thing :-S It's heart-breaking to leave it chirping! urbanchick
I'm sure I've heard that fledglings should always be left because the mother is usually nearby even if you don't think so. If you handle it the mother will not touch it. I'm no expert though and I'm sure someone will be along soon to advise.
