zabboo
I have recently got an eglu but our garden isnt very large so I wanted to leave it in one place. This method has worked pretty well for 2 months and I hope it goes ok through the winter. I dug a shallow hole (about 3" deep) in a shape the same as the eglu chicken run, put battens along the sides to keep the shape and then filled it with Aubiose. The chickens insist on raking it around themselves and digging through to the soil underneath but in the main it stays in the same trench. I change the aubiose monthly. Its working really well so far. If I can work out how to add images to this I`ll post one. cheers Andy
chelsea
sounds great and ideal. We have a permanent area for both our eglu's - I think its much easier. Our hen Coco is like yours - she will persist in scratching all the hemcore everywhere - out of the run and all in the glugs would be great to see some pics,
