Tricky78
I have an eglu go up with 2m run, total novice and these will be my first hens. I was thinking of getting 3 dutch bantams, is this a good hen for a beginner? I have 2 children aged 7 and 10 so looking for something fairly placid. Thanks
Chickabee
Dutch bantams are lovely. Do you have a local supplier. It’s a bit early in the year to buy pullets or growers. I started with Omlets own Ginger Rangers and the black ones (whatever they’re called) they were great. Hybrids are a bit more hardy and for the first year at least should lay through the winter. Depends what you want. None are guaranteed to be friendly. I had a Silkie for 7 years, she was very amiable
