lozkate
Still exceited as the first eggs arrived this week. One of our 2 Light Sussex laid our first egg on Monday (50g) creamish colour, then another on Tuesday (again 50g creamish colour), then last night we came home to 2. One brown (54g) the other a sort of blue / green / creamy again 50g. Now I think the brown is from the Maran but are the eggs from each chicken always the same colour or could this be the first from our other Light Sussex or the Bluebell, the latter aren't showing the same behavoiour os Sam or Tikka. Hope this isn't as daft a question as some of the ones I have received since the chooks arrived! Kate
MaggieMcHen
My experience is that they are usually the same colour from the same hen ......................but........................having said that there are variations in shade. I can usually tell who has laid an egg as long as I maintain a constant 'day before' egg. I use an egg tray and have labeled each column. The eggs are moved forward each day as they get used and it gives me a point of colour reference. Good luck Maggie
