DottyandBluearenew
We have 4 hens. 2 older ex battery ones that do not lay, and 2 recently purchased 6 month old hybrids that are in lay. The old hens are terrorising the new ones. They are separated in the day but together at night. Been nearly two weeks trying to get them together but the ex batts are brutal. The ex batts were given to us a couple of months ago as no longer wanted but they never laid for us so we got the new ones. Seriously considering getting shot of them but hoped they'd lay, as they're not and just bullying the productive ones I'm getting closer to giving them their marching orders! Any advice please? Cat tails
Ex battery hens are know to be very feisty and territorial. Apart from a lot of patience and determination, there is not much else you can do. If they draw blood on your new ones, you could fit them with a bumpa bit.
