Guest
just had an e-mail from a friend of mine, his OH has just opened a deli in St Anne's On Sea, he says; "David has just opened a fine foods deli store/café bar in St Annes On Sea, all his meats are from organic/free range, it’s a bit pricey but far better and nicer quality. It’s a bit like a mini Harrods food hall, you should have a trip out there, the café bar side opens this week." I'll let you know where it is and what it's like when I've been. I'm hoping I won't be tempted to spend too much!

Guest
indeed. we're arranging a meet up some time in Feb at the cafe bar, Ian and I will make a day of it and explore St Anne's. We used to go there a lot as kids so will bring back some nice memories, bet it's changed a lot though!

Snowy
St Annes used to have a pier until my brother and his mates set fire to it. It had been closed for a while and they broke in (aged about 11, so round about 1979/80) and made a fire. And it burned down!
Guest
oh dear, hope he's very sorry now. Did he ever get caught?
Snowy
Yes he did get caught - bad boy! (although very good now, I hasten to add) But his deeds are recorded for posterity (it was 1982): http://www.theheritagetrail.co.uk/piers/st%20annes%20pier.htm
