ymcwhirr Posted May 25, 2023 Share Posted May 25, 2023 I have a very lame bantam hen. The limp has been getting worse for a couple of months and now she struggles to weight bear on it. She's getting more withdrawn from the flock. She is 9 years old. I had her checked by the vet last week, but nothing was apparent. So I've had her on pain relief since then, but after a week there's no sign of any improvement. I'm at a stage that I need to consider putting her to sleep but I thought I would try a forum to see if anyone has any ideas I can try. The only thing I can suggest is to make sure there is nothing that can cause strain on the hip or leg. That means looking for situations where she has to jump, drop or twist.
