Moonie
One of my cats killed a mouse yesterday and just left it on the patio. I let my girls out for the day and then spotted Beryl running around with the mouse in her beak. I watched her for a while and she started just slapping it around on the patio Blood and guts all over the place. Then just now I have just spotted Beryl running around with what's remaining of the carcuss!!!! Someone on here said they went for mice, but i didn't want to believe them!! Eyren
Last summer mine killed a mouse that used to sneak into their run for spilt grain. The first I knew of it, one of them was running round the eglu run with the dead mouse in her beak and occasionally bashing it on the ground, whilst the other chased her, squawking loudly and trying to snatch it off her They're really just velociraptors pretending to be cute pets, you know
Guest
They're really just velociraptors pretending to be cute pets, you know little shalott, though i love her dearly, does have the look of a raptor! I've always thought that! If they were 10 times the size, they'd probaby eat us!
Olly
This happened to me last week - I let mine out, but hadn't spotted a soggy dead mouse in the grass, left by my cat. One got it in her beak and another was tugging to get it away! I wasn't feeling too well that morning so I decided to leave it while I got some stuff out of the shed, and then deal with it. A few moments later I looked up - no mouse, but Sadie looking very smug. I can only assume she gulped it down in one! The girls in that Eglu are not laying at the moment, thankfully. lisa33
How Gross!! Hi Lisa, not long till your holiday now!! 30 days to go. Don't be surprised if you get some panicky calls from my mom with queries about the girls. I might register her on the Forum so she can get help if she gets stuck. I think any secrets were probably given away on my many nights of drunkeness as a teenager many years ago. I think she would like the forum. Although once I register her she might never come off. Fabergé
will you be eating her egg tomorrow? If we're happy to eat their eggs after the girls have eaten earthworms, slugs, beetles & various larvae, I don't see what difference mouse will make!
