Tessa the Duchess
As soon as my new big run is finished eta this weekend. We are going to fence off an area for the chickens and re-turf the 'lawn' well what was the lawn Is it necessary to rotavate before turfing or is it ok to put the turf straight down on the old lawn? Thanks Tessa
chelsea
we laid down new turf last september. We did remove old grass and rake and then laid down bone meal before laying new turfs. Sadly now we have no grass because the chooks have eaten it!
Aunty e
You can't lay straight over where the turf was. We dug it over (lightly) and then put a little top soil down. We have the worst soil in the world though, so you might get away with digging over a bit and fertiliser.
