snowchick
Hi My chickens have been free-ranging and 2 of them have got stuck around the back on the coop and have now gone underneath it. How do I get them out - I need to pick them up to put them back in the run as they keep going the wrong way but I am unsure how to pick them up help! Tessa the Duchess
Could you not entice them out with their favourite treats? If they are crouching/laying you shouldn't have much trouble picking them up, if not, dunno Good luck with trying to get them back in the run Tessa
Laura & CTB
I would try the food option to try and coax them out or at least distract them enough to be able to grab them- have you got a big net????
snowchick
I got treats and they went back in but Doris panicked and tried to fly and banged her head on the metal and is now bleeding a bit near her beak Should I leave her? it's not dripping, just looks bright red? Egluntyne
You will have to steel your self and wade in and grab them I'm afraid, if the treats don't work. I sometimes find that if I clap my hands they squat and then I can pick them up. Can someone lend you a walking stick? My neighbour reckons that is what his Dad used to use, to hook them with the curved bit. Good luck.
