Egluntyne
Hello Stumpy and welcome to the forum. I'm not sure that perches have to be any particular height from the ground in a secure and predator proof hen house. You need around 23cm per bird (15cm for bantams), they need to be 3 1/2 to 5 cms in diameter.
Janty
Many people use tree branches as perches. I have a load of branches that the council were trimming off trees in a local park. The hens love them.
theherd123
The OH & my Dad have spent the weekend uprooting an old tree stump and its now going into the hen hotel so my chooks to perch on. Chooks will perch on just about anything
Ain't Nobody Here
Here's my perches. I've since taken out the highest one as it wobbled and they couldn't hold on very well. They use all the others a lot (especially the shoe rack). There's a large-ish log in there too which they seem to like.

Ain't Nobody Here
This photo actually shows it better. I did have to use a lot of cable ties to make the legs hold up (they collapsed when the girls first all got on at once ). I also now have it resting on the branch you can see going underneath so it lifts up when I move the run.
