tuffet
Has anyone used a harness to let their rabbit have a bit more of a wander round the garden? How easy are they to put on? Jan
pelicano
I tried with mine once and they went beserk/hated it. I've heard that they are ok if the bunny is introduced to it quite young etc. I think the ones with full built in harness are best, as they don't dig in so badly. Hockeyaholic
I've tried to introduce mine to a full harness slowly but they really don't like it. Plus I just don't trust the harness to be secure enough - I could easily see my bunnies getting out of it and having a field day running round the garden while i try and catch them. Egluntyne
I bought a harness for a rabbit years ago when the children were small. A disaster. He wasn't having any. He put up quite a fight.
pepe
Same here, we tried a harness on school rabbit, he chewed it off
tuffet
OK! I think that answers my query! Thanks. Jan
MedusA
Our bunny hated his too, which was a shame because it had pretty carrots all along it. it got so he would panic whenever he saw us getting it out. We just let him run in the garden, supervised now. He soon comes in again for treats.
emily95
my rabbit doesnt really like hers, but it is easier to put it on her if i leave it for her to sniff for a bit, but when she gets out into the garden she unlike others quite likes crawling through bushes and places! Polly
my friend has a harness for her rabbits she just uses it to catch them easier by leaving the lead bit on as her rabbits are very fast but they dont mind them at all
jenuk99
Have started using one with my rabbit, she wasn't keen on it the first couple of times but we took her in the garden and she loves running around so that and the grass distract her from the harness. It must look very funny to see us running around the garden after a tiny netherland dwarf... The things we do for our pets
FruitandNutCake
There is no way I would get one on either of my rabbits! Steffi is still rather wild (rescue bunny). I just let them roam the garden - sometimes they give me the run around, but generally it doesn't take me long to get them back to their walk-in run at the end of the day. I also think they are more likely to get caught up in the bushes with a harness on.
