Mel (& Paul)
Cheers to the forum and the lovely friends we've all made. No one else wants to listen about chickens do they? Of course we do!!!!! I now find many conversations rather dull, not being an anorak, I love fun and other things but do you know what I mean. Found it odd the other week when a visitor who hadn't seen chckens or an eglu in a garden didn't even go to the window to see them, that's bloomin rude. Too right - wouldnt ask him her back again If little johnny or sally has a new anything or a nice book, toy or someone has a gadget I always express an interest, if you don't see the wonder of a hen then you just aint my type! I am so with you there girlfriend!!! BBx Melxx

Sheilaz
Wow, Jayne, what a year it's been for you, and it's great to know you. When I was away or a couple of days, my son (21 & always teases me about my chook obsession) looked after chickenopolis. He & his girlfriend really took to them. After Jimmy's farm, he said, "Have you thought about getting some battery hens. We should do") I was glowing with pride & happiness. Until he added...you can get them for 50p! No, he is keen for the right reasons too, so I think we will when the time (space) is right.
buffie
Ah well I still look like good old marty but isn't that glam? Of course he is keen Sheila he's got your blood runing through his veins (sorry veins is not a nice thing this early in the morning if ever! ) Anyway I won't be having any rescue girls here due to room so I will help in other ways but I would love to see you have some and hear all about it! The Dogmother
Morning Marty! I'd love some rescue hens too, but I'm probably full to capacity - mind you, Rosie said to me this morning 'I'd love some more chooks Mummy, they are soo cool and lay eggs too'..... Afternoon there babs, ahhhh Rosie would love a couple of rescue girls wouldn't she, next time you look at the gingernuts ah that would be a hen then sorry, the rescue girls are similar, alot bigger than your bantams so that may be your problem. I have never been that sensible though so if you wanted to I'd say do it. Can you make the rescue in June. It will be a school day though. We are going it'll be at Janes and Omlet guys are going too Nice cakes on offer BBx BBx
The Dogmother
I'd love to, when is it? But if it's a school day, then that's a problem Buff. Jane was going to let me know about a rescue that Rosie could attend for her Brownie badge. We would be able to travel a reasonable distance to it, but it would need to be at a weekend. We haven't heard anything yet.

Mel (& Paul)
If we had been able to buy our house with more land we would have got more chooks and were definitely after battery hens. But may have to wait now - oh well - still going to do my bit. I am going to change my little notices that go in the egg boxes to include their website etc - is that ok do you think? And any other tips for getting people off battery hens? I actually dont use the egg boxes that people give me if unless they are free range chooks
Mel (& Paul)
Sorry BB Meant to ask - when is the rescue? Is it something we could come along to (if we can get off school )
buffie
Sorry sent you Pm and also replied in the wrong thread I will get there eventually. Clare have you called any of the co-ordinators, that's the best bet. There is a warwickshire one I think that may suit. Some rescues fall on a weekend but some in the week. The numbers are on the website. BBx
