over easy
i bought some mixed corn yesterday as a bit of variation in their diet and found they went barmy for it, can i use this to feed as much as they want it or should it be given sparingly as a treat . im not too sure thanks for any advise
Carol U
Sparingly as a treat I'm afraid. The pellets contain all of the things they actually need, so anything else you feed them detracts from the amount of pellets they eat. Most of us give them a handful of corn before bed time, thereby giving them all day to eat pellets. Corn is also quite fattening, which is fine if you're planning to eat the birds, but not if you want them to lay eggs!

chelsea
my lot go bonkers for mixed corn - they love it. They get a handful scattered in the run just before bed.
susanbb
It's amazing how quickly they scarper into the run to get this lovely treat. it's such a good way of getting them back in if you're having any problems
Egluntyne
Useful to have something to entice them into their run. Don't over do it though....it will crowd out the good stuff.
