BarbaraJ
I know you have heard it all before but when my chickens arrived yesterday i had trouble getting them in the raised up coop and had to catch them all in walk in run and pop them in lol that was fun!! This morning i had to get them out of coop as 1 got out them made an awful noise because the others didn't so i took them out to join her. Well had to go out this afternoon and when i got back it was getting dark so was dreading catching them again but Amber was already in the coop so i went back indoors for a bit to see if the others would follow. 15 mins later they were all in bed awww aren't they clever!! Now do i just open the door in the morning and let them come out in their own time, then check a bit later?
chelsea
that is clever! They must be feeling right at home Yes, just open the door and they will venture out when they feel like it!
Hen Watch
Yep... just open it up and they'll come out when they fancy. (Once they get settled in they'll probably be like mine....champing at the bit until I roll out of bed at 7.30am - then they shoot out of their eglu like 4 little rockets). BarbaraJ
This morning at 7 they were fast asleep lol Bit worried about the weather tomorrow, maybe i won't have the water hanging up, don't want it knocking someone out
superjules
Now do i just open the door in the morning and let them come out in their own time, then check a bit later? On the rare occasions I shut them in (bad weather) they all tumble out like they've been shoving themselves against the door. And I'm always up before 7am. Where'd you get your chooks from then Barbara? Did you go to Thorne's?
BarbaraJ
No i got them from cambridge Poultry in the end, really nice bloke. Thornes didnt have much of a selection when i went last but lots of pure breds. They were let out at 7.30 and were waiting by the door lol
Egluntyne
Yep ....just open the door. If they are anything like my girls were when I used to close the doors, they will be shoulder barging it anyway at first light!
