Egluntyne
Good Lord! My 1/3 of an acre will produce 2 bread buns I imagine!
Eyren
Not to mention the depredation from chickens! Nice idea, not exactly very practical when you have about 50 sq m, of which about 25 sq m are already given up to conservatory, patio, veg garden and chicken housing (and the rest is free-ranging space)! sparkleeeeee
thats a great idea and we have a windmill in our back garden it has all the workings but we would need the sails. it used to be a hovis mill. unfortunately we dont have enough land to grow the wheat for our family. Lesley
hmmmmmmmmm - interesting.......it sounds very labour intensive though
fluffymuppet
If you fancy growing grains, you'd be better off with one of the ones that Real Seeds sell. They've got quinoa, hulless oats and amaranth. And if you've got a damp patch then Seeds of Italy sell risotto rice. They've also got spelt. Lesley
I've got amaranth seeds - but I fancy growing risotto rice and spelt
fluffymuppet
I've got more than enough seeds to fill the garden this year (and probably for the next 100 years ), so I am trying very hard not to succumb to the temptation to try amaranth and risotto rice as well this year!
