Boris70
Hi, I know this is probably a "how long is a piece of string" question due to the age the flock was rescued etc, but is there an approximate age I could expect mine to live for? I ask as Jerry has been a bit off colour today, and I've had them since October. How long have yours lived for?
theherd123
Hi Boris You are right about the piece of string theory TBH it does depend what age they are at rescue but also a number of other factors too * how many were to a cage when they were in the farm * what condition they are in at rescue * whether the chooks you got were in relatively good condition compared to the other chooks rescued that day The list could go on I have 7 girls with me now. 3 are from a rescue in Nov 2006 1 died of a tumour 6 months after rescue 4 are from a rescue in May 2007 2 chooks i rescued in July 07 died in the early part of this year
freddie
My last lot of rescue hens lasted for 18 months aprox.;then one by one, in the space of three months, they all keeled over.it didn't seem very long, but they had a great time with us, or us with them, should it be.. superjules
Oh Boris, I don't know the answer but I'm sorry she's not herself. Hopefully she's just having an off day and she'll be better tomorrow! If you need anything that might help to perk her up (spice, battles, etc.), just PM me, I can drop it over tomorrow.
