BERTIE MCSQUIRTY
this afternoon i saw 3 brown rats entering our garden through the gate - i suspect that theres more. on seeing a rat close to the omlet netting the chickens came together and went for the rather large rat and the rat backed off. even our cat backed off the rat!!! these rats are definately different from the ones i caught a couple of months back - they were grey and much sleaker - these are brown and fat. how can you tell if they are sewer rats? as they came from down the road caught one tonight - dead as a doughnut now though. baited up trap on the patio now as we speak. it looks like tomorrow i shall be on sentry duty armed with air rifle. superjules
Oooh, that's horrid. I don't know about different types of rat I'm afraid, but I think they're all bad news. Hope you get the problem sorted out.
Egluntyne
They are probably the same species...just better fed. Look**here** Black rats are uncommon in UK. *shudder*. Is there a chap with string round his trouser ankles and a couple of hungry terriers in your location?
