Chickaboo
Phoebe has started breaking eggs, I'm not sure if she is eating them but she came out of the Eglu the other day with yolk all over her head This upsets Daphne no end as she see's all eggs as her babies; but how can I stop her doing it. It started off just every now and then, but she has now done it for a week in a row - it can occur before she gets up in the morning, or if she lays later in the day. Apart from anything else I am having to buy eggs in
Egluntyne
Why not try putting a couple of pot eggs in the nest. When she has hurt her beak a few times trying to peck them....she may give up. Some one on the forum had success with this recently. It is worth collecting eggs as often as you can too.
Chickaboo
I do take the eggs as soon as I find them, however its not always possible to get them instantly, if I'm at work etc. Surely I might as well just take the egg if I'm going to put a plant pot over it in the nest? If I put the plant pot in there all the time won't they just lay somewhere else?

ajm200
I'm sure someone posted a note recently about stopping egg breaking/eating by carefully breaking an egg in half, emptying it out and filling it with something yukky like mustard and vinegar before sticking it back together. Whoever is breaking the eggs will soon go off the idea after they've tasted the doctored egg
