WitchHazel
Oh my goodness, I think Scarlett has just laid her first egg! I found it on the Run floor just now, a lovely little 37 grammer. She's been crouching for a while, but I'm so pleased that she laid us a proper egg - I had expected a couple of softees first. The sad thing is - we can't eat it. She' just finished her antibiotics, so we're in the egg withdrawal period. Anyone got any tips on how to teach her to use the nestbox in the Cube? Delilah already lays in there. ubereglu
Perhaps place a golfball of fake egg in the nextbox as it will show her wear to lay. It usually works.
WitchHazel
Thanks Ubereglu. i've had a fake egg in there since the chooks arrived, and it worked with Delilah. Maybe Scarlett just hasn't been in the nest box to see it? If she lays in the run again, I'll put her in the nest box so she can see the "egg".
