GEB
Late yesterday evening someone layed a soft shelled egg( strange as we'd already had an egg from each girl that morning). The egg is in tact, but the shell all soft and squashy. I've opened it and the egg inside is normal. Would it be ok to cook it up and feed it back to the chooks, or is this wrong to feed them egg? Laura & CTB
My two love scrambled egg You're lucky it was still intact - I've seen two softies - shell only and two yellow faces!!
GEB
I only found it when I went to shut them in for the night. Laid in the nest and then ignored by everyone. Still don't know who laid it , waiting to see who doesn't lay today. Having said that my snowbell seems off colour this morning so i'm thinking it may have been her. If its ok to give egg they can have that this afternoon, I have no doubt they'll love it.

If you scramble it first then they wont put two and two together and figure out that those eggs they lay everyday actually taste very nice
ajm200
My mum grew up on a farm where they raised the chicks on hard boiled eggs and boiled nettles so you should be find feeding it back to them as long as it is cooked.
