r com 3 incubator

Recommended Posts

Before you hatch any eggs, you need a clear idea of what you will do with any roosters Debbie. The rate is about 60% in favour of cockerels.

Then you will need a brooder and all the kit that goes with rearing chicks.

It is quite a committment.

Why not have a look at **this** article.

This is the incubator they used at school to hatch chicks last year. I don't think it was due to the incubator but only 1 out of the 3 chicks hatched and survived.

My kids would love to hatch some chicks but I will never do it - if I got all boys it would break my heart. The other side of it that worries me is having unvaccinated chooks in my little flock as I lost one to suspected Mareks so I wouldn't want to take any chances.

I'm lucky, my sister will take any males - as she lives on a farm & will be starting to breed from her little flock now that Roy the cockerel is doing his stuff! Although hubby says we should ' try' a cockerel with our girls, just to find out what the neighbours would think..if anything!

My sister used the RCom 3 in the past, not for chickens, but for ducklings & it worked perfectly!
