peanut12
BUTTER that I made myself I saw an article in Homefarmer and never realised how easy it is. So I tried it and it was gorgeous
daj198
Wow, that's so cool! How did you do it? I assume you bought the milk/cream...
peanut12
Put double cream in a pot with the lid on. Shake vigourously until it separates. Pour off buttermilk and chop in with a knife under a trickle of cool water. Add salt and Bob's your uncle!
Lesley
There has been quite a lot of discussion in the Nesting Box........ or was it All Things Nice? Quite a few people have been making it - and really enjoyed it!

peanut12
apparently, if you run the butter under a slow trickle of water, whilst running the blade of a knife thorugh it it helps to smooth it. (I think that's what it does) Anyway, i was so pleased with my own effort I got one of my classes to make their own today. it's great to see a group of 16 year olds shaking a bottle like crazy Then we used the butter on some hot-cross buns and the rest has been donated to breakfast club in the morning. They loved it - and for a bunch of 16 year olds - they actually said "It was cool" Praise indeed
