superjules
Can the eglu be used as a broody coop? I was just wondering if it is suitable for using in this way (taking out the roosting bars, obviously!), as DD would like to hatch some pekin chicks and the easiest way seems to be to let a "proper mum" do it, rather than artificial methods! I've seen plans on pekinbantams for a broody coop and run built from pallets but if the eglu is suitable it seems silly me going to the trouble of building something if it is not necessary. Thanks in advance. PS. Before anyone says anything about boys, I have it all sorted already!
xChicken04x
Don't see why not, other people have done it before. xx
The Dogmother
I used a rablu Jules - one of my broodies hatched in there and it was brilliant. All I needed to do was to use a bit of wood as a doorstep so that the chicks could get in and out, and I put kickboards around the edges of the run as the daft chickies kept poking thir heads out through the run mesh!
