Could be anytime, Egburt. They could start laying anytime between around 18 and 25 weeks of age - sometimes even longer. If they've got nice red combs and are starting to do a funny little squatty tap dance when you go near them, it shows they're mature enough to start laying.

I think they are more likely to start laying their eggs at the 25 week end of the spectrum.

 

Their combs and wattles will develop and redden and they will start to crouch.

 

When this happens , expect eggs any time!

 

You may also notice a huge increase in their appetites.
