It's interesting that you revived this post too, I sent someone some advice following their request for a hen house on Freecycle, I also gave them links to here, River Cottage and Home Farmer and I got a very nice thank you in response. I'm always a bit wary of people asking for houses for animals they intend to keep, suppose I shouldn't be but especially with chickens being the "new rock and roll" as CCR once said, I worry about people doing it as it's "fashionable" without proper research.
