Light Sussex as egg layers?

Recommended Posts

Winifred my hen party 'demo' chicken  lays lovely nearly white eggs, 6 days out of 7. Nice thick shells and very tasty eggs (even though all our eggs are tasty )

I would definitely recommend light sussex hens, will be getting them again (one day when OH finally agrees to more hens):D

I have a pure bred Light Sussex - they are one of the highest layers in the pure breed class - about 250 in the first year. I get cream eggs, they are not massive (58g) but very nice and she is so pretty.

They are a good choice if you want a pure breed with a high egg production
