Will they fit onto 1/2 inch x 1 inch avairy wire. After 2 days I'm already fed up of the food being scratched/kicked out everywhere - lol

Errrmmmm, not sure but they do fit on sheets of weldmesh that you can get from garden centres if that is any help.

they don't fit onto our inch by inch weld mesh - but we simply cut out a couple of squares and it hooked on nicely

I'm still using my 'temporary feeder' , it works so well. It's a large plastic milk bottle, the sort with a handle at the back? I cut a large square out of the centre at the front/side , leave the top screwed on, and attach it to my weld mesh with wire through the handle at the back. I can fix it off the floor and because it's so enclosed it stays waterproof. I did think about getting a grub, but not sure it would be any better than my freebie feeder !

I have that size weldmesh and i also cut 2 squared holes for the grub to fit

Ali, I have gone with your idea for now as I've spent far toooo much on chickens these past few weeks. Suffice to say they've just ignored it - lol
