CAN YOU KEEP A CHICKEN WITH INDIAN RUNNERS? MY HUBBY AND THE KIDS WOULD LIKE A CHICKEN AFTER SEEING A REALLY BEAUTIFULL BLACK ONE AT A FARM WE WERE WORKING AT. ( SHE WAS REALLY LOVELY!) MY RUNNERS ARE 5 YRS OLD. AND I HAVE A 9 YR OLD KHAKI. IF SO HOW OLD SHOULD THE CHICK BE BEFORE PUTTING THEM TOGETHER? NOT SURE IT'L WORK. ANYONE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE PLEASE

I am afraid I don't know anything about keeping ducks with chickens, but I do know that it is inadvisable to keep just one chicken. They need at least one friend, otherwise they can get depressed, unhappy and ill. I am sure someone who knows about ducks will be along soon.

Drakes can get over-amorous with chickens and can do them a great deal of harm.

yes they are all girls. 2 runners and 1 khaki. should i get a pair from the same brood?

as long as they are point of lay and from the same farm i cant see that there would be any problem! our friend who lives on a farm ceeps cockerals, drakes, female ducks, and hens all together and they are all fine together, but that is in large numbers so i dont know if it would be any different
