Anyone else see the eggy article in the Times today?

Recommended Posts

I spotted a chicken themed article in the Times this morning!! Apparently Britain's biggest egg was found recently....

I'll quote

"A Cornish farming couple have found Britain's biggest egg. It is four times larger than average. Julie Hewitt and her husband David own more than 30,000 chickens which lay around 20,000 eggs a day. They found the egg in one of their coops, and it was the biggest they had seen in 15 years. The egg, laid by a free range chicken, is 4in (10cm) long, 8.5in (21cm) in circumference and weighs 7.4oz (210g). Britain's smallest hen's egg was laid last week in Lavenham, Suffolk, measuring 2.5cm long and 1cm in diameter."
