Scotty
Our girlies who roam freely in the garden all day, recently had to be confined to their pen; while I went away on a business trip. Worried how they might react whilst I was out, I came home to find egg production had dropped, 2 of the eggs were softies and the third was what can only be described as a comical rubber "deflated" egg The neighbours later informed me that the girls had moaned all day and generally were totally fed up at having to be restricted to their pen Now things are back to normal... egg production and quality is back up to the usual standard! ... So it appears.... but the neighbours .... Oooh!!!!! both sides have been caught flinging grapes, Cooked potatoe peelings and the odd snail over the fence. Seems the hens have everybody exactly where they want them...
Egluntyne
Your neighbours are thoughtful to have cooked them first? (Potatoes belong to the belladonna family and contain a toxin that is destroyed by heating)

Lesley
How nice to have neighbours who have done some research - I had to stop our previous neighbour's little girl from feeding unsuitable things to our first two hens - including raw potato peelings Your girls certainly have everyone at their beck and call
