Tweety
One of my girls, who was broody about 3 weeks ago, is showing all the signs of being so again. I have made a broody house out of a dog cage, so put her in it after she had been hogging the nest all morning, only to find that she has just laid an egg. I am positive that she is broody - she is making all the right noises, is puffed up like a furry pancake, will allow me to pick her up which she never does normally, and will not get off the nest. I thought that they stopped laying when they are broody - am I wrong about that - or perhaps that egg was on its way down the pipeline just before she turned broody? Should I leave her where she is? Any advice gratefull received!
Christian
From the way you describe her, she does sound broody to me. I would see how she is tomorrow. She could lay a few more eggs to get ready to nest on them! They off to the broody cage with her! All the best
